Joanne Rocco Endowed Scholarship

Joanne Rocco, beloved long-time principal at South School, retired in June 2019.  Few people can look back at their career and know that they positively influenced thousands of children and parents.  Joanne Rocco is one such person.  The Welcome Back Coffees she held at the beginning of the school year are remembered for her stories that delighted and entertained parents.  She had a calming and authoritative presence that permeated the school. Joanne's unique blend of wit, wry humor, compassion and kindness are fondly remembered by former students, their parents and fellow faculty.

 

A South School family has partnered with the NCHS Scholarship Foundation to honor Joanne’s service to our children, families and staff.  Anyone who would like to contribute to this scholarship in Joanne’s honor can do so below. 

 

Our goal is to raise $22,500, so that a $1,000 scholarship can be given each year in perpetuity. This scholarship will be given to a NCHS student, preferably one who attended South School, with proven need and who is pursuing a college degree.
